Quick answer: Machi Big Brother (Jeffrey Huang) was fully liquidated on Hyperliquid on Oct. 15, 2026, after turning $56,000 into $12.25 million in four months; his account fell to $21,800, per Lookonchain. By 23:54 UTC the same day, Hyperliquid data showed a new 6,100 ETH 25x long worth $14.9 million, liquidating near $2,404.
Machi Big Brother is back on the edge. One day after the trader was fully liquidated on Hyperliquid, the same wallet holds a fresh 6,100 ETH long at 25x leverage — about $14.9 million of exposure on roughly half a million dollars of equity.
Few crypto stories show leverage this clearly. In four months, the trader known on-chain as Machi turned $56,000 into $12.25 million. Then, early on Oct. 15, 2026, almost all of it disappeared.
What happened to Machi Big Brother on Hyperliquid?
On Oct. 15, 2026, at 02:33 UTC, on-chain tracker Lookonchain posted on X that Machi “just got fully liquidated.” The account had grown from $56,000 to a $12.25 million peak, and was back down to $21,800.
Machi Big Brother is the nickname of Jeffrey Huang, a Taiwanese singer turned entrepreneur, as Blockmedia notes. The account belongs to the Hyperliquid wallet ending in 5872, which Lookonchain links on Hypurrscan.
Our pull of Hyperliquid’s public trade data shows 232 liquidation fills between 02:22 and 02:24 UTC that closed 1,650 ETH at prices from about $2,330 to $2,380. That matches CryptoSlate’s count of roughly $269,225 in realized losses on those fills. Before that, Machi had been cutting positions for hours; at 00:56 UTC, Lookonchain reported the account was down to $129,000.

How did a $99.8 million ETH long shrink to zero?
The wipeout came in steps, not one candle. Lookonchain’s public posts trace it:
- Oct. 5: longs of 34,100 ETH ($92.98 million), 456 BTC, 174,500 HYPE and 425 million PUMP, after 12 winning PUMP trades in a row.
- Oct. 7: a 39,025 ETH long ($99.8 million) near liquidation at $2,501.38.
- Oct. 8: BTC, HYPE and PUMP longs closed; all in on 29,000 ETH ($73.64 million).
- Oct. 9: $8.44 million lost in a week; account under $1 million, holding 9,950 ETH.
- Oct. 15: full liquidation as Ether slid toward $2,330.
The pattern was simple. Each time ETH dipped, Machi trimmed size to survive but kept leverage high. The broader market did not help: Bitcoin briefly fell below $80,000 the same day as nearly $1 billion in bets were wiped out, as we covered in our liquidations report.
Is Machi Big Brother trading again?
Yes. Hyperliquid data shows the first new ETH buy at 02:31 UTC, about seven minutes after the last forced fill. A $250,000 USDC transfer reached the account from another address at 09:48 UTC, and buying sped up from there.
As of Oct. 15, 2026, at 23:54 UTC, the wallet held:
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Position | 6,100 ETH long |
| Leverage | 25x cross |
| Entry price | $2,398.52 |
| Position value | $14.9 million |
| Unrealized profit | +$272,520 |
| Account value | $530,785 |
| Liquidation price | $2,404.27 |
With Ether near $2,443 at that moment, a drop of about 1.6% would trigger liquidation again. Ether is up about 0.9% over 24 hours, per CoinGecko; you can follow it live on our Ethereum price page.
Why does 25x leverage get liquidated so fast?
At 25x, a trader posts about 4% of a position as margin. Hyperliquid closes positions once equity falls under the maintenance margin, which is half the initial margin at the asset’s max leverage — 25x for ETH, so about 2% — per Hyperliquid’s docs. That leaves very little room for a normal intraday swing.
The same math is behind newer high-leverage products such as Papertrade’s 1,000x launch. For the bigger picture on smart-contract and liquidation risk, see our guide to DeFi risks.
Market implications
Big on-chain whales are now public theater. Trackers post their liquidation prices, and other traders watch those levels. Machi’s new long adds a visible cluster of forced selling just above $2,400. A clean break could add pressure; a bounce would let him rebuild once more.
For everyone else, the takeaway is not about one trader. Peak account value is not banked profit — the $12.25 million existed only while the trades stayed open.
