Quick answer: Strategy daily dividends were approved at an Oct. 28, 2026 special meeting, with 99.3% of votes cast in favor. Per Strategy’s 8-K, STRC moves to a daily schedule on Nov. 1, 2026, and STRF, STRK and STRD follow on Jan. 1, 2027. Annual dividend rates do not change.

Strategy daily dividends are now approved. At a special meeting on Oct. 28, 2026, Strategy shareholders voted to let the company pay dividends every day on its four perpetual preferred stocks: STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD.

The change starts with Stretch (STRC) on Nov. 1. It matters because these preferreds are one of the main ways Strategy, the largest corporate bitcoin holder, raises money to buy more BTC.

What did Strategy shareholders approve?

The proposal amends the certificate of designations for each preferred series so that dividends can accrue and be paid daily. According to the preliminary tally read at the meeting, 381,355,641 votes backed it, 2,233,325 opposed it and 444,752 abstained. That equals 63.69% of total voting power, or about 99.3% of the votes actually cast, as Cointelegraph reported.

The four series covered are the 10% Strife (STRF), the variable-rate Stretch (STRC), the 8% Strike (STRK) and the 10% Stride (STRD). Annual dividend rates stay the same. Only the payment rhythm changes.

When do Strategy daily dividends start?

Strategy’s Form 8-K filed on Oct. 28 sets out the timeline:

  • STRC: daily schedule effective Nov. 1, 2026.
  • STRF, STRK and STRD: daily schedule effective Jan. 1, 2027.

Both dates depend on Strategy filing the amended certificates and those taking effect. Since Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday, Cointelegraph notes the first STRC daily payment is expected on Nov. 2. Strategy’s CEO Phong Le also said at the meeting that the semi-monthly STRC dividend for Oct. 16 to 31 is still payable on Oct. 31, so coverage has no gap.

How do weekend record dates work?

This is the part most holders will need to read twice. Each series will have a record date on every calendar day, including weekends and holidays. However, for shares held through the Depository Trust Company (DTC), a weekend or holiday record date rolls back to the previous business day.

Strategy gives a clear example in the filing. Dividends for Nov. 6, 7 and 8, 2026, a Friday through Sunday, would all share a Friday record date. They would then be paid together on Monday, Nov. 9.

Because U.S. trades settle one day later (T+1), the effect is counterintuitive. A buyer on Friday, Nov. 6 gets none of those three dividends. A seller on the same day still collects all three. Strategy adds that brokers and venues with weekend trading may treat this differently, so holders should check with their broker.

Why does Strategy want daily dividends?

According to Cointelegraph, Strategy says a shorter payment cycle could improve liquidity and reduce price swings in its preferred shares. In a proxy video filed with the SEC, the company went further. It argued that daily dividends could strengthen demand for the preferreds, which in turn could help it grow bitcoin per share.

Our read: this is mainly about making STRC behave more like a cash product. A stock that pays out every day looks closer to a money market fund than to a quarterly-paying preferred. That could attract yield buyers who would never hold bitcoin directly. In addition, steadier preferred prices make it easier for Strategy to keep issuing new shares near par.

The rival treasury firm Strive moved first. It introduced daily dividends on its SATA preferred in June, as Cointelegraph reported. We covered Strive’s latest buying in Strive’s 6,182 BTC purchase.

Data and context

  • Strategy holds 848,517 BTC, according to Cointelegraph, against Strive’s 43,000 BTC.
  • Cointelegraph puts the four preferreds’ annual rates between 8% and 12%, with STRC’s variable rate currently at 12%.
  • Bitcoin traded at $81,179 on CoinGecko at 16:54 UTC on Oct. 29, 2026, up about 1% over 24 hours.

What to watch next

First, watch whether Strategy files the amended certificates in time for the Nov. 1 STRC start. Next, check how STRC trades in its first weeks of daily payouts, especially around weekends. If its price holds closer to par, Strategy will likely lean harder on it to fund new bitcoin buys. Finally, the January switch for STRF, STRK and STRD will show whether the model works across all four series.

Strategy Daily Dividends FAQ

When does STRC start paying daily dividends?

Strategy’s 8-K says the daily schedule for STRC takes effect on Nov. 1, 2026, subject to the amended certificate taking effect. Because Nov. 1 is a Sunday, the first daily payment is expected on Monday, Nov. 2.

Do Strategy’s preferred dividend rates change?

No. The approved amendment only changes how often dividends are paid. The annual rates on STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD stay as they are.

Who gets weekend dividends on STRC?

For shares held through DTC, weekend and holiday record dates roll back to the prior business day. Under T+1 settlement, someone who buys on a Friday misses the Friday, Saturday and Sunday dividends, while a seller that day keeps them.
